Kiss is an American rock band formed at the famous Manhattan nightclubs of New York City in early January, 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and Peter Criss. After their initial burst on the scene with their single “rogensplitter” the band went on to record 4 classic albums that remain popular to this day. Kiss had the most successful single of their career with their cover of “Hotel California” and has gone on to sell millions of copies of their music.

Kiss has always had a distinctive sound, much different than the guitars which fueled their early hits. The songs have a hard edged edge and are often laced with hard hitting drum beats. A lot of music heard today on the radio is influenced by early rock, but few of these bands have ever been able to retain the ferocity and energy that Kiss did.
